seriously... Confused

I'm pretty sure it's cause I'm a goon and didn't disconnect the battery before I started installing the intercooler, and arc'd the LICP across the hot lead on the back of the alternator to the front cross member.

Winchester is back on the road! Very Happy

Yesterday I finally pinpointed the actual short, as it turns out, there were two soldered joints exposed were one of the previous owners had hardwired in the 2g MAF plug, one of them was 12v from the MPI relay, and the other was the sensor ground, LOL! Well needless to say I completely stripped and de-loomed my engine harness unnecessarily before discovering this very obvious short, but whatever, at least the car is running again!

Now i just need to spend some time cleaning it up with the old Weller, some new wire covers, and heat shrink.

BTW both of my ECU's were shorted because of this issue, so take it from me, if you have exposed wires under the hood, fix them!

Thanks for letting me borrow your spare Dave!

Good catch. Seems like me and you have been plagued with wiring issues lately. They are definitely the worst problem to find.

Yeah, I hate electrical issues, it's definately my kryptonite. This car is a whore, and has been around the block, and the previous onwers have done a lot of really poor electrical work on it. I'll take it off the road pretty soon and give it some much needed attention, one of the major goals will be to strip and de-pin the wiring harness.
